Overview
Leading audio brand Bang & Olufsen partnered with Autosport Magazine to sponsor the ‘Autosports Moment of the Year’ award in December. We were asked to create a compelling series of short films featuring the jury members, sharing their personal thoughts on each moment, and ultimately announcing the winner.
Our process
Due to rights limitations we were restricted from using any video footage of the moments being discussed, which required some creative thinking to give the films maximum impact. Our solution was to create the illusion of movement by adding parallax to still imagery. With motion graphics, we are able to bring flat photographs to life making them appear like slow-motion video. These ‘moving stills’ were used to illustrate the moments that the jurors described.
For the live shoots, teams travelled to Dubai to interview Bang and Olufsen CEO Kristian Teär and CMO Kamel Ouadi, and to Autosport Magazine’s offices to film Autosport Editor Kevin Turner and President of Motor SN James Allen. All interviews were conducted using three camera angles, giving a range of creative options, with a centred main angle tying the interviews together, and keeping an overall cohesive style.
Deliverables
We created a film for each of the four moments, and a trailer prior to the event create hype and attention. Each film was reframed to appropriate formats to run across multiple social channels. Editing and finishing was in Davinci Resolve, including some cleanup and object removal.
